KY3: Well, spring is almost here and if you want that coveted green lawn, Mike has a solution with Ozarks Outdoor Solutions. Good morning, Mike. 

Mike: Good morning, how are you?

KY3: I’m wonderful. I’m so excited for the warmer weather. It’s just around the corner so what is this product that you have that's going to make our lawns green? 

Mike: Well it's not just me but any current chemical treatment or fertilization plan from most companies offer a pre-emergent. And pre-emergent is a type of chemical. It can be granular or liquid, and it prevents weeds from growing throughout the season and allows your turf to take root and grow faster than those weeds. 

KY3: Nobody likes weeds. So why should someone use pre-emergent over anything else?

Mike: So pre-emergent is the best bang for your buck if you're on a fertilization plan. When the soil temperatures reach above 50 degrees for a consecutive five days or so, that's when things start to grow. And that's when you want to get your pre-emergent down. If you do it afterwards, it'll do an okay job but you want to get it down before hand so that it can actually dissolve and get into the soil to prevent those weeds from growing up.

KY3: So the sooner the better.

Mike: Absolutely.

KY3: You have any tips for people who maybe want a greener lawn or just no weeds at all?

Mike: Well, usually with a pre-emergent there is a fertilizer included so you get a two-for-one. You get the preventive, as well as you get a little shot of nitrogen and phosphorus to help that grass really just boom right.

KY3: I love that. You can have that lawn your neighbors covet and be the envy of the neighborhood. Tell me about your company.

Mike: My name is Mike from Ozarks Outdoor Solutions. I started the company in 2016 and we do lawn care and maintenance as well as fencing and cedar raised garden boxes.

Ky3: Okay, so when should someone call a professional?
